Wildflowers and Waves

I know its been a while since my last entry here, but hey, I'm a busy guy. What can I say? Its May now and since there was a whole two month gap here I'll try to fill you in on everything thats going on...

I'll start with this weekend and work backwards I guess...

Well, this weekend began on Thursday night for myself and about 100 other people who make up the Volunteer Committee for the Jamba Juice Wildflower Festival of Triathlons. We headed up to Lake San Antonio that night; some had been there since Monday getting ready for the event.

Basically, Wildflower has been going on for 23 years, put on by TRI-California and their staff and volunteers. It is the worlds second largest triathlon, with over 8000 athletes partaking in at least one of the three races during the weekend. So it's a pretty big deal. Anyway, my job for the weekend involved supervising the parking, camping, and festivities for the crew of 400 volunteers. Lots of work, which allowed my only about 10 hours of sleep total between Thursday and Sunday. I got back this morning around 11. Oh how good a shower feels after four days of camping. I'm looking forward to sleeping a long time tonight.

Here's me after the longest weekend of my life. Still lookin' good. ;)

Oh yeah, last week I bought a surfboard. I found a good deal on eBay, watched it for a few days, and bid for a few hours. I won!!! I bought it from a guy in Newport Beach, and Mom picked it up for me on Saturday. It's a 9'0" longboard, the perfect size for a big guy like me. Woo Hoo!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to see it soon, and put it to good use.

Anyway, before last week it was mostly school and Wildflower prep meetings and Billiards League and stuff. You know, the usual.

Hope all is well elsewhere in the world.

Peace out,

Jimbo

I just wanted to put in a little THank you, to you and all the other people who worked Wildflower so the so called volunteers (like myself) could go and have a great time! You, Jeremy, and Alex really rocked my world saturday night! I really enjoyed our night looking at the Stars, the seven sisters will find us some night soon hopefully.

Ericka

You rock Jim! What great experience for you. Was it fun? Would you do it next year? Call me or email when you have time. I don't want to call when you're busy, and I don't know when that is! Let's talk! Elaine
