A New Direction

Hello everyone!

I know it's been a while since I last wrote in my blog, and I guess there could be a good reason for that. As many of you already know, I am no longer attending Cal Poly SLO. Basically I got "dismissed" (kicked out) for having low grades for too long.

People are surprised when they hear this, mostly because they see me as one of those "smart kids" who is driven fanatically to succeed in academia. Well I used to be that kind of student, but I guess when I lost my way in terms of direction I lost my drive for excellence. I am human after all, and sometimes we let our situation get the best of us.

But I see this change in my life as a chance to start over. I am still taking classes at Riverside Community College, and I have newfound ferver in the fact that I can chose any path I wish now. This time I feel I can make an educated choice, one which will allow me to live the rest of my life in happiness and enjoy the things which matter most to me.

I'm thankful that my family have been so steadfast in their support of me throughout this shakey time in my life.

So now I move on, in my new direction, towards the artistic path which I was hesitant to choose before. I know that photography is what I am passionate about, as well as art in general, and so I plan on pursuing a degree in the fields of photography and graphic design.

I would say wish me luck, but I don't believe in it. My life is what I make of it, no matter the events or circumstances.

And so I sign of on this era of my life. No longer am I "Going SLO" as my dad so appropriately named this blog - I am seeing life from now on - Through the Viewfinder.

Yey for photo majors. unfortunately UCSD does not have the greatest photo program, but at least my degree will still say it eventually. =)
